Maxwell Roadster Roof

Post by mcornes »

Opened up another box of goodies and discovered this Y-14 Maxwell Roadster with a Tan Roof instead of a Black roof. I see a note in the book that roofs are easily interchanged, but is there a way to tell? There was no note with the car saying it was special or anything.

Y8 Stutz and Y14 Maxwell are the same component in different colours. Often muddled up as they fall off if you wave a feather at them. Not a factory variation if they are wearing each other's roofs, just a mix up when the previous owner was assembling the loose bits back to the models.
Maxwells can be found with tan or white grilles however. If found with any shade of red roof & grille. these have been switched from plated giftware models.
