Y-6 1920 Rolls-Royce 'Fire Engine' with a Red driver's seat. This is coded to the 'White Book' as issue 14. Models with the Red seat apparantly discovered in W. Germany in 1983. They are in fact from 1982 but span across to 1983 when by then the crew seats along the side of the body were plastic.

The crew seats are the long dark Brown strips just above the 'BOROUGH GREEN & DISTRICT' labels and on this model are metal castings with a Bronzed effect. During 1983, these were replaced by Black plastic mouldings.

Because this version comes from towards the end of this model's production period, it has both Y-6 & Y-7 catalogue numbers on the base section just above the rear axle.
This was my Third attempt at getting one of these variations into my collection. The First attempt and the model turned out to be a fake. The Second attempt and the Guy sold it during emails to him, so Third time lucky!

Here is that fake next to my genuine example.
