Removing overpainting.

Post by kbean63 »

I have several models that, much to my disgust, have been overpainted. Is there anything or any method to strip off overpaint or is it best left alone?

Since you are already disgusted, what harm can be done?
There is a solvent called Goof Off that will take off paint. You could carefully test a spot using a Q-tip
to see if it takes off just to top coat, not the factory layer. Also, soaking in water may loosen the
repaint but leave the fatcory paint.

Well, I might botch a job that someone with more experience and better eyesight might be able to pull off.
