I thought I would take a punt..... I didn't have much to do on a Saturday afternoon anyway so spent from 1.30 to 4.30pm on the road
Quite a few in the photo seemed to have box damage and missing flaps, but the Cortina and Merc looked to have good paint and anyone who has kept boxes for 45+ years must have looked after their toys, right?
When I picked them up the first thing I noticed was the box was an old shoe box, look at the date code in the top right of the price sticker "1/70" January 1970.....I bet the shoes even being "Double Life" are long gone.

That date pretty well stacks up with the cars in the lot: A couple of regulars, some transitionals and a couple of later Superfast.....The lady I bought them off said they were her brothers, she'd had them in storage for a long time and he didn't want them. Circa 45 years in the same shoe box, what an excellent find.
I gave them a bit of a clean and the results are below

I thought I would try the TinMan end flap trick to make the incomplete boxes square and worthy of display. Not bad for my first effort, although a better printer would have produced less washed out results.

So down to the models / boxes, more shots of both from multiple angles can be found at https://postimg.cc/gallery/277vyyrhi/
