OOPS! That is Nick's 23B Trailer in Green, not the more common 23C in green which I have had for years now. I am old and slipping a bit now......I also forgot to mention my Mom who had passed before I found either the Black Door or the green 23C version. Every time I look at my 69 2 color Hatra Shovel I remember her 45 minutes of patiently waiting and convincing a disinterested clerk to remove that one from a high display, and also when I look at my original beat and checked off 1964 Fred Bronner Pocket Catalog that got me started in all this madness. She and I had walked to Clark's 5 and dime store to buy just another 49 cent Matchbox Toy.......kwakers

kwalker,
These are memories we can cherish forever...I have fond memories as well, begging my mom or dad to take me to the toy store just to look at what was new in the matchbox section and then talking them into buying me one...and who would have thought 50 years later we would still have these little gems. :)

Hi everybody,
my best find 2013 I received today. I bid it on Ebay for only 1 Euro, but for me it is worth much more!

Thank you motorman!
The luck is, that so many bidders do not know what they are looking at. They only search for the real known rarities in almost mint condition.
In this case they saw a used Miura on a not so good photo. So the way was free for me (and I was lucky they do not know nick's website :D )

For you and all the other members in this forum all the best for 2014!

I have bought and sold many models this year and in the last week have added another muffin and jumbo to the moko fold but my favorite find this year is my very near mint gold plated large coach, not only is it really clean and tidy ,the gold is really shiny, but its the only coach i have got boxed that has the cardboard support for the drawbar still with the model.

My favorite non lesney find is also a fairly recent addition and is following the trend of collecting diecast lookalikes, its said its a dinky copy but i am not totally convinced the ramps are to big ,but the model is well designed with legs for the trailer,a winch and toolbox with tools, not sure the tank is the right tank but always happy to add to my ralph lipkin collection.

Wow, first action in 2014 is writing a post on this forum - what may be even better this year?
motorman, it was on "ebay.at" but the miura was offered in germany. I always take a look on both (mixed) ranges.

I 'm sure you will also find one; scottish People are wellknown for endurance , willing strength and luck! :D

That is a beautiful Plated Large Coronation Coach Mokosex. I have seen them 'used' over here, but never have I seen one so Mint as your example of the plated one. I am glad you knew what the extra cardboard piece is, I had never even heard of it before this. Even though the cream Cougar shown very early on this thread is still a favorite dream of mine also, it is pretty hard to beat your Coronation Coach in my personal vote of models shown here. May I be the first to cast my favorite in this 'Best Find' section as your Plated beauty. This Model was so instrumental in the early success of Lesney, it will always fascinate me just as it did so many years ago when it was shown by Fred Bronner in one of his Club Newsletters.
I did get my first plated Coach example from Tim earlier this year, as well as some Great models from he and Mokosex, Mick, Numi, Nick, John, Jason, Joe, Brad, and many other Forum members both here and also on E Bay. I cannot complain at all about 2013, it has been a Happy and Great Year for Lesney finds and hunting. Dick
