Close to £700, that's a lot of money: RW Pontiac in F2 box I think:

Hi Pete, it must be rare if you've seen so few of these, I don't recall seeing one before. There were three bidders fighting it out at the top end of the bidding.

To think that I picked this one up at Sandown 20 odd years ago for about 3 pounds.

A HARD box to find and not seen very often!
I had been looking for one for many years and "discovered" one on Ebay over a year ago that was with 15 other regular wheel boxes. Was able to secure for a very reasonable price so felt very fortunate on that one.
NOW, if I could just find the 34B VW van "E" box, 58A BEA bus "D" box and the ever elusive 55A DUKW "D" box for a reasonable price --- the quest continues................ :D
