I don't think we are doing anything wrong, I agree with Reg, our forum is geared to a different audience. I prefer quality over quantity.

That reminds me of a post by Jon (Biggles) on Lefora:
"I think it's just a different mentality and mind-set. I spend a lot of time in the States and I can see many of the American traits reflected in the direction taken by the MCCH. They seem to be motivated by acquisiton and we seem to be more centred on the historical/ production side of things. This is because the majority of members on the MCCH collect new models. Nick's forum is built around his excellent reference guide so, most posts are concerned with the reinforcement of this guide. I guess they're a bit "yee-haa" and we're a bit "pipe and slippers". "There's a snake in my boot!" meets "one lump or two?"."

I think, going by my own site, that most only join to glean prices for their items. You get the hard core posters who number a few and the rest are either 'twitchers' (bird watchers) or have poor English skills so find it a bit hard to join in the conversations but like the posts as much as all of us.
FB gets you an instant response albeit incorrect at times. As an example Charlie Mack just posted ' where did the name 'Regular Wheels' come from and one answer was' I think it refers to black plastic wheels' nothing at all to do with the question asked ( does anybody here know), even MC chipped in his pennyworth. Plus you get lots of oohing and aahing over your pieces of junk or brand new stuff which some appear to like as they post lots of junk.

I like true vintage junk  It fuels my passion to restore things.

But, I get your point. It's like there is an unwritten contest to see who will own the last surviving 1e Mercedes lorry sans canopy, the last 40c hay trailer without the hay rakes and tires and the last 30c crane with a broken boom.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

I have been following the Facebook site and the personal site of MC for quite some time. Mainly because the man is obnoxious to a point that annoys me and that doesn’t happen often. On his own site he’s extremely ill, always in pain and just about living. During a recent operation he saw angels singing and apparently died! Next he’s off shooting with his daughter!
His FB site is full of “look what if just bought/found” and is apparently being run by his Dutch friend because he is too Ill to manage it himself.
The man is not normal, goes walking with a gun in his hand and is proud to be “a Carrier”.
I do not like him although I’ve never met him, if his lungs were on fire I wouldn’t piss down his throat to put them out.

Now I feel better,

Whilst I appreciate that emotions run high where Mark Curtis is concerned, I would ask that Members restrain themselves and refrain from making further personal comments.

Why not just lock the thread and put this to bed once and for all, This is supposed to be a site to discuss diecast toys.

I agree wholeheartedly, however we are in “the Lounge” and apparently we can discuss anything.
My wife does not understand my frustration about MCCH, so who can I talk to?

Curtis was a member here in the Lefora days. However, he lurked and never posted. Curtis claimed he never had time or interest to read Nick's forum (however that was another untruth as he did read the forum), but he certainly used every possible excuse to belittle or insult this forum with derisive posts on his own forum. When Curtis decided to photo bomb this site with porno photos, that was the last straw for many of us former members and admins of the mcch.

Participating in any forum or form of social media organized by him will always be shunned and refused by those who have had their enjoyment of the hobby affected by this deeply disturbed and damaged individual.  Many have fond and delightful memories of the glory days of the mcch and want to defend the old site. That I can understand, a site's success comes mainly from the membership and their participation. However, there will never be any acceptable excuse for the money Curtis has stolen, the abuse he has savaged upon collectors and the needless drama he created for his own amusement, that is something many of us won't soon forget.

As long as he keeps trying to maintain a social media presence (and his web link claims the old web forum will be rebuilt and launched spring 2018), he opens old wounds and some feel it's important that he be exposed for who he really is.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
