What a great story you tell of your Ghosts and what bad luck with that missing part and here is a variation on the missing part.

Forum member ''Mokosex'' posted a picture of a job lot he aquired where one of the models was a fairly large novelty Rolls-Royce radio. I collect these radios and one I aquired was missing the all important Spirit of Ecstacy mascot from the grille. What happens is they get knocked and are broken away at the lower legs leaving the base still attached to the grille. I took this radio apart for a thorough kleen and to do any minor repairs. Inside the seats aera was really dirty and what I thought was a dead spider or something was flicked out with a screwdriver and to my utter surprise and then relief, it was the rest of the mascot that the previous owner had placed inside when first damaged! After a good clean I was able to stick her back where she belongs!

That's a great story Ghosty!
I can imagine your surprise to have found her. I was hoping the piece would have been in the box for my Grip, but no luck.

As mentioned earlier, some of these were later released (late 70's and/or into the 80's) as World Zechin. I have seen very few of this line but my most recent acquisition is this CAT Loader. It is the same as the No.7 in every detail but in blue as opposed to orange/yellow. Although it was marketed as World Zechin, it still has Grip Zechin on the base plate. I don't have the box for this one. Too bad, as I would like to have been able to confirm the marketing as "World" Zechin and the difference in packaging.

My mistake.
I mentioned the little model car that comes with the auto carrier, is not one piece. It does have moving wheels :D
The bull dozer that comes with the flat bed transporter is all one piece

I like the CAT dumper, and dump trucks in general. This is most likely because I always wanted to drive one as a kid. Thanks for sharing it!

The dump truck is one of my favourite Grips too. Great detail for such a small scale :D
