Perhaps this heading should be “Look what I wish I had just found” as the following is being posted on behalf of Nigel (matchboxuk).
Nigel tells me the 16b with GPW is one major variation he was missing but with this new find he has now completed his gpw collection of significant variations.
A day later he added the 15b gpw Rotinoff Super Atlantic Tractor unit to keep the 16b trailer company.
Congratulations on this milestone Nigel.
Thanks for the images Nigel to share on the forum.

Well done Nigel - I was the under bidder, so congratulations on your win. Glad it's gone to a good home.

I found it strange that both models 15b and 16b with very rare gpw came from the same person but with different Ebay handles and posted separately on different days. The paypal payment goes to a third name.I can find nothing wrong with either model. They are chipped with rusty axles which I think would be difficult to recreate. There are no neutral or negative feedbacks though very oddly a cream Morris Minor with chips amongst 6 worthless models fetched £283 very recently.MatchboxFreak wrote:Congratulations Nigel! Any thoughts??

People have more than one account for different reasons and looking at the two involved here, I can't see anything that jumps out. Both handles have been established quite a long time, (between 8-10 years) but with relatively low feedback scores. The circumstances you describe do seem unusual though. The seller has sold some rare/htf models on both accounts over the last few months, mostly playworn. Their photos aren't the best & you can't zoom in, but if you're satisfied with what you have bought, I think that's the important thing.

These Two GPW Lesneys make up a very handsome and RARE pair Nigel. Two awesome variations indeed. I have yet to replace my 16B GPW orange Atlantic Trailer, but Thanks to the kindness of a fellow Forum member here, we now have a replacement 15B GPW Tractor on our display shelves.
I am not troubled at all by a Seller who has two different E Bay accounts to sell from Nigel, our good friend and veteran diecast collector Bob Brennen (NAMC) has used two different E Bay accounts for quite some time to sell off his massive diecast collection that had taken him over 40 years to amass.
My thoughts on that rare pale brown Morris Minor are quite simple Nigel, this older collector has perhaps always looked upon that unusual model as a worthless re-paint (And has never owned Mike Stannard's 1985 Lesney Guide), OR.... perhaps a non-Lesney dealer/Seller (As evidenced by pictures that cannot be blown up to show casting details for we 'completists') has taken on the job of liquidating a very deep older collection that includes some VERY Rare and uncommon variations in it. (Some of Brennen's oddest unique Lesneys were sold cheap by him without ANY descriptions from his 1971-2 NAMC Lesney Guide, just his code #s. I know because I bought a couple of those rare pieces.....
We Yank collectors had never even heard of the pale brown Morris you mention here until reading about it being a possible "Trial run" when we bought our own Stannard's Guide. I was able to buy a very early (and Pricey) printing from Phillip Bowdidge at the West Point Lesney Show in late 1985(?). I read through it, thought Mick's minute casting details were way too minute to collect, so I shelved that book for nearly 20 years before coding our collection by it. I have been using that guide as my "Bible" the last 13 years with updates from Nick's Guide and our Forum member's finds.....Dick
