Re: any shops in yorkshire
Sorry - I have no idea about shops in Yorkshire, but it seems like most people sell on eBay. Looking on eBay is a good way to get a sense of how much you’re likely to get. If you want to sell everything in one go, you could go to a toy fair and ask the dealers there. Much depends, of course, on what you’ve got, how rare it is, and whether there are many collectors.

In general, dealers will give you the minimum amount of Money they think they can get away with hoping the owner is not fully aware of the value and in the dealers eyes, nobody will own anything rare until that dealer owns it and resells it on his own table as a rare model with a premimum on the price!
I agree with going onto ebay type websites to see what models are realising, but once again you will be surprised at how many models are described as rare when they are not.
The only true reliable way to sell a collection is to get to know someone in your area who is a collector, has done something similar to what you want to do and is willing to helpand can identify the more collectible models you may have.
If you can take photos of what you want to sell and poat them here for forum members to see, it may be possible to tell what you have, but for this to be successful, several good quality sharply focused pictures of each model is required, a daunting task if you have never done it before!

Ghosthunter is right, of course. Dealers need to make a profit so they can’t offer you retail prices, and if you don’t know what you’ve got you might get less than a fair price. The way to get most money is to research the collection thoroughly and sell the rarities to collectors, probably at auction. But that can be a lot of work...
As Ghosthunter says, why not post a few pictures here? Someone’s sure to be able to tell you if anything is rare.
