>>> I got these the 450 SEL, all bulgarian models. They have the same bad paint with dust and dirt. AFAIK the 450 SEL never came with this horn and lights from England, so your body should definitely be a Bulgarian.
--- Roland, please remember the n° 56 Mercedes Police, it has horns and lights and is a Lesney product. But I have to say the red one looks like a Bulgarian.
>>> I also bought a bunch of 350 SLs in unsusual colors, all in blisters. they have the same glossy rivets. As the seller offers some more variations with prints on the door i think, there is someone doing some homemade models. What do you think?
--- I have also much variations of the Bulgarian Mercedes with odd rivets but I don't think that they are homemade.
So I think the production period is responsible for the different quality of the rivets.
Please look a the statement from Christian F. the Mercedes is from 1993 onwards.

Bulgarian models regularly seem to come out with unusual colour schemes and various prints on the doors - I have the same gold VW with AEG, Compaq, and Sun decals - all are sealed in the blister packs and all carry Bulgarian bases.
