Morestone No3 AA.??

Post by red-thumb »

G'day,
Are there any Morestone collectors Who can help Me. :?:
The Esso Pump Series No3 AA Road Service Land Rover was only issued between 1956-58.
Has anyone got or seen one with the Spare Wheel on the bonnet as pictured (but missing the wheel).
There is No Hole in the bonnet so I wonder how the spare was fitted or was it just a Pre-production model.
I have let Nick of Diecastvintagetoys,co.uk know about My model and he has listed it on his site but I would LOVE to know if there are more out there and has it got the spare.
Cheers,
Red Down Under.

That is a great find, and I see that it’s now listed as the first variation in Nicholas Martin’s excellent guide to Morestone and Benbros. I only have a very worn version with a smooth bonnet. I do have one or two rare Morestones - I must post some pictures sometime.

It would be good if this post could move to the appropriate section so we don’t lose it!

Thanks DrJeep
It is exciting when you find an unlisted Model.
