Warning to Sellers - Ebay ID 2boogie2

Post by soisjack »

Felt so insenced as to what has just happened to me that I wanted to warn all other sellers. I know we all hear about the bad sellers , but there are bad buyers too.

2boogie2 (USA buyer) bought £450 worth of Matchbox two weeks ago (12 items) , no payment after 5 days so politely requested payment. This was ignored to I had no choice but to open an unpaid item case.

Two days later , the buyer posts an echeque payment which takes up to 5 days to clear. Today I get a message form Paypal saying this had been declined by their bank.

I have sold on Ebay for many years , and never come up against this before and thought it completely unreasonable. If the buyer had the decency to ask for longer to pay then that is fine and happens often, but £450 tied up is a lot and is taking the Mickey when they can't even be bothered to communicate.

Anyway , just thought I should advise you all.

On the back of whay you have done already, make sure ebay become fully aware of what has happened / is happening and make sure they become fully involved in your case. They are usually good at resolving issues such as this and keep us informed of the proceedings please.

Yes , Ebay fully aware and closed all the cases in my favour.

That will be all I guess , buyer will still bid and trade so hopefully other sellers on here will at least be aware of the situation

It is cases like this that warrant negative feedback being allowed to be left by the seller for a buyer, in the past this was not only a deterrent but also helpful to other sellers to see what sort of buyer they were dealing with.

Don't forget to block them from bidding on your auctions,
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Thank You for your GREAT U.S. E Bay Lesney listings Soisjack! I must apologize for my fellow Yank, it is of course asses like him that discourage international offerings by honest Sellers such as yourself. Gone are the days when we could track and acquaint ourselves with fellow Buyers by their E Bay names, so we Buyers bid against Feedback numbers now. Sorry you have had such a bad time, but Thanks for passing on the info here for us share.....Cheers! Kwakers

Thanks all - appreciate your comments. I wasn't sure whether to name this persons ID on here, as wasn't sure of the Forum rules , it is not something I would do lightly, but felt it important enough to notify anyone buying or selling Matchbox, as Ebay themselves do little to protect a seller from this type of thing.
