I'd hazard a guess at Streamlux Tim. I had a greyhound coach a couple of years ago, same size and finish. Hopefully someone down under can help.

Johnboy is close. It is a Fun Ho! version but based on the Sreamlux original. A nice find Tim.

This series are colloquially called chromies here in NZ.

Dave - Fun Ho! acquired the Streamlux dies and the first issues produced in Nz were the "chromies". The Commer bus can be found with the Streamlux on the base, without any markings, and then with the Fun Ho! base - all were produced by Fun Ho! as Streamlux only issued the Commer bus in a painted finish (see http://toysnz.com/FunHo_07_BOACBus and http://www.funhotoys.co.nz/Fun-Ho-Histo ... ralia.aspx).

The vehicle is a Holden EK saloon - issued by Fun Ho! from 1964 to 1972. The Holden EK was produced by Holden (a GM brand) in Australia from 1961 to 1962. Introduced on 2 May 1961, the EK series was a facelifted version of the Holden FB, which it replaced.

I owned a real 1959 Holden FC Special back in the early 1970s. The FB is a facelifted version of the FC which itself is a facelifted and improved version of the Holden FE. (Goodness knows why they worked backwards with the series definitions, but the FE replaced the famous FJ series which in turn was based on the 48-215 or FX model which was the first Australian built GM vehicle to carry the Holden brand name and was released in 1948 based on an American design considered too small for the US market).

The final chapter for Australian designed Holdens just closed. The next Holden Commodore for the Australian and NZ market is a rebadged Euro GM model. Gone are the lazy straight 6's and V8 developed out of the models Tim mentions above.
