Antonin, you have buried me in a lifetime of checking out my 'Spare' models now with yet another casting change Stannard had never seen on this Thunderbird.
My BPW versions both have the double brace, while ALL my earlier SPW have just the single brace. These braces are easily seen from the front wheel well and it is hard to believe Mike Stannard missed them. The difference is plain as day between the two. Do you have examples of the twin braces with SPW?? I must now put that one on my 'Want List' to someday find.........kwakers

I guess you have to enlarge your wants list again.....
I only have one 75a Ford Thunderbird so far - but it is a Stannard code 6 with 9 x 24 silver plastic wheels, and it has both braces!
So there are cross-overs.

You are right, the early models have one brace, the late ones have double brace. I am not sure, where the double brace was introduced. I think, that the double brace variation could be found only by models with black base plate. I am sure that the variation is by GPW ø9x24 and SPW ø9x24. I have models with SPW ø9x24 with black base plate and with/without double brace. Please check it.

my code 6 model has the twin braces and a blue-green base plate - so it looks like there is no general "base plate rule" for the twin braces!
