#4 Triumph Paper Weight

Post by matchboxrw »

I guess the Triumph paper weight was made by Triumph. I don't think it was made by Lesney. Any info would be appreciated.

Is it marked on the base Steve? The paperweight model I have has the 'Transpalite' name on the base. I've never seen one with the Triumph in it.

Definitely not Lesney or Transpalite. Transpalite red bases were a much more solid red and as far as I know have never seen one engraved with the name. I suspect made by a third party somewhere.

No, it has no marking except for the word Triumph on the back wall. The guy thought it might be a salesman's piece. I know I have never seen another one like it. Any info would be appreciated.

Never seen one of those before. It looks very clean. I know Transpalite had a lot of problems with air bubbles around the models.
Personally I think it's a piece of crap and should be sent to New Zealand straight away!!!!

Cheers Steve
