Here is Malcberry's base picture with enhancement.
Checking this model's entry on Nick's code page, it seems to have the narrow area between the rear axle openings and the Two small triangular braces. So it seems to be the later base.

Re: 66a citroen ds19
thank for the interest but after looking again I think it might be a fake it looks like the back of the base plate as got a slight lip where the wheels fit through
and the axle as got a slight bend to it but the rivets for base plate all look undamaged same as wheel rivets. front wheels seem undamaged around front of base plate I have included a few more photos so you can give me your opinion thank you malcolm

Re: 66a citroen ds19
I think the rivets look ok, but it does look like the wheels might have been swapped without taking the base off. As well as being bent, the back axle is probably a bit short, which would make it possible to force the wheels on or off. On the front, the clue will be on the left side, which has probably been hammered.
Can you remember where it came from?

Re: 66a citroen ds19
The extra pictures are quite revealing and I have detailed Two sections of one of them below.
There is a paint chip just where the axle-end will catch the body paint as it is put back into place with the Black wheel fitted.
It looks like the axle housing has been split where the axle has been forced out of the housing and probably leading to the axle being bent.

Re: 66a citroen ds19
The wheels are just too far out of the time line (in the wrong direction) for me.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: 66a citroen ds19
This one makes two wheel challenges in the timeline I've seen in the last week or so. A member was just questioning DTE's Landy fire engine with knobby gray plastic wheels.

Re: 66a citroen ds19
I would have brought it on a online auction about a year ago with others I was after a couple other cars in the same lot
Re: 66a citroen ds19
It’s probably worth a close look at the others too, just in case. I hope it wasn’t expensive. It’s a shame it was done. Even the most common 66as fetch a decent amount in good condition. It wasn’t in the range for long, and it’s a nice little model, though it really would have benefited from windows and a more convincing colour.malcberry wrote:I would have brought it on a online auction about a year ago with others I was after a couple other cars in the same lot
