Hi Malcom welcome to the forum, are they black plastic or has somebody been out with the paint brush Pete.

Re: 66a citroen ds19
had a good look and compared with other models with black wheels and I can say that they have not been painted in my opinion

Fascinating! I can’t tell from the pictures whether your Citröen has door braces - it looks like it may not, which would make it an early model. It would be good to see the other end of the front axle - is it crimped or rounded? Do you know anything of the history of it? Where did you find it?

It does look good and if it is a wheel swap because of the bodywork covering the back wheels, the base has to come off for that to take place.

This is very interesting to say the least. True, we don't have all the angles on the model. Also assuming the base would likely have to be removed for the wheels to be swapped. I can't see any obvious tampering.
Re: 66a citroen ds19
Thinking about it some more, I wonder if these wheels are just too far out of the timeline for the 66a, which was dropped in 1962. I can’t think of fine tread wheels on anything in this period. Or am I missing something obvious?
