Hi to all forum members, I am known as GHOSTHUNTER, you've probably visited a few of my topics in the Lounge or in the Main Board. I have been visiting the old 'LEFORA' forum site from time to time, to save as many of the posted images as I can. I have been saving them to a folder on my computer for posterity and to allow any members access to them so they can retrieve what they want.
It is not currently feasible to get them all posted onto this new forum, I will have to be the custodian of them for now, but if there are images that you know was posted on the old site, then send me a Private Message with basic details of what's in the picture and I will have a look for it and post a copy back to you via a Private Message, or directly to the forum if you want me to.
I am not a "Matchbox" expert, so if you ask for something like..."the blue model with both casting ridges at the rear"...this means nothing to me, give me a model number at least and the make of vehicle, if you know why the picture was posted, I.E. to show someone the difference between body colours, then mention this as well, basically the more specific the details the easier for me to find it, if I have problems finding an image, I will ask you for more details.
I do have quite lot of images saved, but not all of them, some have in fact already been deleted or the link to them is broken, (by Lefora), so there is always the chance that the specific image you ask for, may never be found, I opologize for this in advance.

Re: Lost Property.
Thank You for this Gracious Offer Ghosthunter, we all miss the information we had all worked so hard to gather. We have survived, and we will get stronger here, but life is way too short to do the same work all over again. Thanks for preserving whatever you can from Lefora........kwakers

Thank's kwakers, very kind of you to say so.kwakers wrote:Thank You for this Gracious Offer Ghosthunter, we all miss the information we had all worked so hard to gather. All members of the forum have an interest of some sort and many of those members contribute in some way, weather it be in general comment, queries with models, informative answers to model based questions etc, etc.
Since the forum changeover, I have been able to keep popping back onto the old Lefora site and save as many of those precious images as possible and I understand a few more members are doing the same, especially images from their own topics and threads and while I have posted some interesting items and detailed articles myself, (the "Matchbox" copies and the Hong Kong Dinky Toys articles) this is a major contribution to forum members and as detailed in the opening post on this subject, I keep them all together in one main folder. It would have been nice to keep them more segregated, but this takes too long and I considered it was more important to 'grab em while I can' and maybe sort them out at a later date.
A storage issue prevents them from being made available on this forum, as it was intended to put them here in this section, so anyone could go and have a look, I communicated with Martin Avis on doing it this way and he suggested it may affect the sites limit, simply because of the huge quantity of images added together, would be of several 'Megabytes', affecting the way Nick runs the forum as it is now.
I am hoping to make a proper announcement of completion, when I consider I have saved all the images from the old site.
Thank's again kwakers, for repyling to this post, it is much appreciated.
Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

OLD DATA UPDATE.
I believe I have saved most of what we forum members had posted onto the old 'Lefora' forum site.
I have many hundreds of pictures saved in folders by the name of...'Lefora Lost Property'...across three computers.
I also still have many, many threads from the same site, that can be read by us on a computer without any internet connection.
I am quite happy to look after this material for as long as I remain a member of our current forum and it will remain secure, I will not use any of it for my benefit while visiting other model car based forums or websites, as part of my normal model car hobbies.
Any members who feel they have lost pictures from that older forum, can post me on the forum or through a Private Message and ask me to search for them, I will ask you a few questions relating to the picture subject, just so I know I am looking for the correct pictures, but please be patient, remember, "Many Hundreds of Pictures" will not be quick!
