With some spare time at his disposal, Hugh can fine tune his Cat hurding skills, always handy here on the forum... :D

Hugh you are awesome...thats for the dedication to further the member knowledge...we are all adding to our lists of models to find from your posts in this forum...thanks again!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Hugh,
Thanks again for all your efforts in facilitating this great topic! It was VERY informative and the sharing of knowledge/information has been exceptional.
While it has been designated "finished", the discussions, sharing, and ongoing contributions/updates will continue........................
Great stuff!!

Thanks,

For many years now (on Nick's VBD Forum) we have all worked very hard to keep Nick's online Guide the most accurate FREE source of information available to collectors worldwide. Nick Jones and his terrific site brought me back into collecting after a 10 year absence from it. When his original Forum started, a lot of us were strangers who quickly joined in on sharing models we had held for years that were never listed in either the Mike Stannard or the Nick Jones online Guide up to that date. We added many new codes using "Martin's Maxim" of at least 2 models with the same traits being shown before a new code could be added to Nick's listings, so all was well back then.
Your point of wanting Hugh to start a "New" Stannard Catalogue Pierkemimi is totally understandable, but why re-invent the wheel? Nick's list is already a major update of Mike Stannard's Codes, but contains a few errors which have not been corrected as of yet. We all hope that in time Nick's online Guide will be updated to include ALL the details, omissions and new Codes we have found and discussed these last few years on our Forum, along with a few of our 'newly' discovered earliest castings that will upset most all previous recorded "Early" Lesney 1-75 Regular Wheel listings.
Maybe one day Nick's online Guide will be 'unlocked' to make some needed changes, and I hope we will ALL be able to help and contribute as we have with Hugh's Great Posts on all these "Missing Variations" we have held in our collections and are still being 'discovered' today......Kwakers

I think unlocking Nick's Code is a good idea and should be done just Once a Year so we can do the updates. If Nick himself is unable to be available for this to happen, he might have to allocate this to another Admin member or even a Moderator.

Hugh, above all I would like to thank you very much for your greatness of efforts, diligence and patience with which you have added every week the summary about the known variations of models. I think it will serve for many years as a new standard for classifying the models.
I have a small suggestion to lock the chapter "Missing, Previously-Catalogued 1-75 RW Variations" so that no new topic could be added and just adding the contributions to the existing chapters would be allowed. This will ensure that there will not be information about individual models in different locations.

Well, that was an interesting excursion into the world of phpbb permissions. If I've done it correctly, only Nick and myself can now add new topics to this area, but everyone should still be able to post to existing topics.
