If i read it right, sellers who continue to accept paypal when the new one is introduced will be getting a slightly worse deal with the amount taken in fees than those who don't.

Can't see many sellers continuing to accept paypal if thats the case.

Bank transfers are free, paypal not! When i sell something within Europe in my business, i take an extra of 2% from paypal users, if they instead could use bank transfer.
Last year paypal cost me more than 1,500 Euro

I am aware of this but it is a total pain in the arse to do. Paypal makes it one click payment so simple. Why is it only German sellers i have this issue with? I thought it was only mean scots like me who were canny with their pennies?

I use Paypal when buying from sites other than eBay and lots of other sites besides those that I use also give a Paypal option .... it costs no extra.
No site that I can see uses Adyen ..... which to me sounds like a Japanese based company.

It seems like Etsy signed up with Adyen last year, I don't know if it's in place yet but it would be interesting to know if anyone has any first hand experience of using them (Ewan?).

Afraid not, I 'fell out' with Etsy and have no intention of going back. They make a huge song and dance about only selling vintage (20 years old and over) or handmade and try to portray themselves as somehow a more ethical place to sell than ebay. Fair enough, but no matter how many times I reported Atlas Dinky being sold as vintage they never once made the seller alter the listings or take them down.......
