a friend found this Isetta Bubble car.
Does anyone her knew who made it and when?

On the frontflap of the box is written: An Empire made / Lincoln international product.

EMPIRE MADE means it has been made in Hong Kong (part of the British Empire at that time), for a toy distribution company based in the UK trading under the Lincoln International name in the late 1950's.

It can be classed as a cross-over model featuring tinplate and plastic components before Lincoln concentrated on all plastic toys and vehicles. It is a very nice model looking to be in great condition and could be very valuable to the right collector.

Stephan - you answered your own question! Lincoln International was the company that grew out of Lincoln (New Zealand) when they moved their manufacturing arm to Hong Kong in the mid 1960s. Details on the company are on my site at http://toysnz.com/LincolnToysOfNewZealand
