Old Adverts.
Re: Old Adverts.
Thanks Kevin.
There was 4 cars MB 68/MB 5 /MB45 and a test car 80(bottom left) .They tested the 4 cars on the superfast loopings.
the 3 Mb cars past the looping test(without falling off). The 4th car (bottom left failed it was fast but not as fast as the MB,s
and it did not complete the devils looping and skidded out of the track

Re: Old Adverts.
Thank's Gary and after looking at the adverts again and having Two clues (thank's), it must be the wrecker truck advert that is special to me and I'll agree with that, just wish I could find the pictures of the truck I used to work on!

A-ha!, you might be right and it would kind of make sense if the advert message was that Matchbox cars were better track cars the HW. You have hit the nail on the head.ClOwY wrote:Cöuld the test car be a H-- W----

Not going to mention "anything" but surprised to see ME 109s marketed in the 70s.
Not sure the PC brigade be happy if it was today.

Doesn’t look like any HW I remember from the late 60’ or early 70’s. Those would have a red line on the circumference of the wheels.ClOwY wrote:Cöuld the test car be a H-- W----

If it’s not a European brand, could it be a one time custom, built to look like a HW?
Happy hunting!

I´m not shure, if comparative advertising was allowed in this time. It still was a more gentle time (in the meaning of Gentlemen) and i don´t believe, that MBX would have used a HW and told the customers, that it fell apart.
Looking closely at the Test-Auto 80 i see a wide SF wheel in front and a King Size wheel on the rear. Maybe its a HW, but it was fitted with SF wheels to avoid trouble. Sadly this construction didn´t work the way intended and so they had to tell a story for the customers
