I think that the wheels without any traces of the lettering are quite rare.

I think that the Pre-Pro Muir Hill with green cab and red bucket had the rear wheels with metal hub and black plastic tyres (MH & BPT ø16x24) from MP-1a Caterpillar Earth Scraper.

I am enclosing a proposal of a new 2c list. I have added some new variations: tipper stop on chassis, tipper stop on bucket, wheels mit metal hubs (MH & BPT ø16x24), wheels with/without any traces of the text, thin/thick text on the decal and dark/bright red body painting.
Please comments.

Hello Antonin,

Wonderful detail and great photos as usual and great new table. Thank you.
We have text and no text front wheels on this model. The wheel with the extended hub or boss should have more significance in the table, don’t you agree?
For the benefit especially for new collectors I wonder if it would be a good idea to highlight those variations that have the extended hub version front wheel.

Also in case this is not an isolated example....
I have one model with thick axle supports but with 11.0mm x 45 front wheel. What is interesting is that the hub does not extend outside of the line of the wheel and this causes the wheel to rub on the sloped axle support.
Photo attached to show comparison with model at the top item of interest.

Thanks Bert for your comments and recommendation. It is a good idea to distinguish the wheels with extended hub.
Thanks for nice photo. Please could you be so kind and measure the diameter of the front wheels of the upper model. If I compare the lower model with front wheels ø11,5mm, the upper wheels appears for me to be much smaller as ø11,0mm.

Yes, sorry Antonin I did actually mean to add it to the photo. It measures 10.82mm but it is a little worn although the treads are still visible and countable. This one is/was ( in my care since 1973 :D :D ) my younger brothers and has done a lot of miles.

The difference in what appears to be greater than just 0.7mm is most likely exaggerated by camera. Recently I took a whole series of photos of some other wheels and using two different cameras the distortion was obvious. Just the slightest change in angle can create odd sizes. This is something worth keeping in mind with online photos for variation hunters.

Thanks Bert for measuring the wheels. Your worn wheels ø10,82mm are ø11,0mm. It seems to be only an optical illusion. I am enclosing an upgrade of the new list.

I have collected RW since 1964, seen MANY pioneer huge collections sold, but I have never heard of anyone with this reversed paint Dumper YET! One was advertised over in Australia 10+ years ago on E Bay with poor pictures. I contacted the Seller for clearer pictures of it and he told me he would be away till after that one sold. Someone paid $350 for it when the auction closed, and not a word has been found on that one since. Anyone selling a $2000+ Lesney rare on E Bay with bad pictures and then is "away and can't send any other pictures" is most likely a scammer. I never even put in a bid on that one, and I still have no regrets for not pursuing it any further.
My theory on Mike Stannard listing two of them concerns the fact that Mike had access to the factory collection, which he makes a point of telling readers early on in his Guide. Since the early box shows this reverse colour scheme as Antonin has shown above, chances are that a trial run was done with this paint scheme. If the factory collection had these two different versions for Mike to catalogue, where are they now, and what happened to that collection after Mike had access to it in the early 1980s? We have asked that question for years now, and no one seems to have any idea where that collection or any of the important trial models in it may be today. Maybe some day..... :o Kwakers
