I think I know what you are saying but this is totally crazy he's got like five matchbox lunch boxes tubes on tubes of cars die cast spitfires there must be four bags full I know he told me he used to buy of a chap not far away that whent to Leicester to buy up all the old stock and items that never got put in blister packs or on magazines he used to come back loaded I have just uncovered his bed in the back room because he couldn't get in or on it when I cleared his room guess what two single beds going round tonight to put him some clean sheets on bet he has a lie in tomorrow

I.ve got about 200 superfast in window boxes from 1983 +stars of Germany/3 packs/mb BMW/1995 window box and another 60
mixed all boxed and i dont collect superfast (sorry Motorman).

Sounds like the best thing is to try and collect certain things to build up the collection that makes sense.
This chap just brought anything from stingray thunderbirds Star Wars wallis and gromit Thomas the tank engine majorette corgi matchbox carmarama bat man ertl buses loads of buses.
So I think there is collecting and being a collecta maniac even torches not one five in a bag ? Think he stopped in 2007

This was my early starting years anything MB then it got to much and u cant collect everything so since ca 15 years

No your right you can't collect everything unless you want to live like this chap a house just full of bags.
It's not like they are on show iv been putting some nice ones in a display cabinet but just because they look fragile and nice not that they are of value.
And I don't know anything about the value and what models are hard to find he could be sat on a very rare model I wouldn't even know.
He does have some idea but then can tell me one story then the same one ten minutes later but it will differ and then ten minutes later again.
But he is 84
but better eyes than me that's for sure long term memory great unless he's making it up but what he did this morning no chance but we have a laugh and that's the main thing

This is an incredible story unfolding before our very Eyes and Ears. This type of hourding has been seen on TV shows about Secret Hauders etc, but not as far as I know has a model collector been featured and this elderly Gentleman would make prime time viewing with his collection that he still remembers, but has lost control of.
How many of us fear the same thing happening. I do, I see myself in the same situation when I am on my own in later Years, surrounded by a vast collection of Rolls-Royce toys and models, my audio and Hi-Fi collection, my book library, my real car parts and ephemera, my Camera collection, all my Dad's property I have recently adopted which includes yet more models, more Cameras, more...

Your bang on the button with that comment some one at work said the same thing that I will end up the same way so I intend not to be.
I do have my real classic cars and motorcycles in the garage and that will keep me happy but regarding anyone even talking to him let alone getting in his home that not happen.
He's happy just moaning about his sister where he goes of a evening for his meals and talking about the past Ho and the way our government are doing a great job or was that a crap job ye that was it.
He gets four daily papers each day reads everyone saves them for a month so he tends to have a few papers around the place.
Magazines loads classic vans buses trucks trains books loads never came out the bags just like the model cars

One thing you must do AT ALL COSTS is keep the location of this property a close secret. If it ever gets in the public domain, the scum of this "society" we live in will be all over it.

I agree with Bob and I hope while you are helping him, he does not suddenly decide you are not welcome (forgets why you are there etc!) and tells you to clear off.
