Welcome to the Forum Bob. With Numi's words you have come with our highest of recomendations! I see you joined the Forum a few months ago, so I am very glad you have finally Posted here Monday. The blue marking is very perfect inside that factory rivet, so was probably done with a pointed sharpie magic marker to denote someone's past ownership, as has already been pointed out above. You will probably find other models marked in the same way in the general area of where this one was found or bought. It is a pretty clever way of marking ownership, and sure beats the huge black initials on the base as most I have seen. The bad part is that the blue can be easily removed from the rivet without much effort, so provides little security if that was the reason it was marked.
