NEC today 27 December 2017

Post by DrJeep »

I didn't find anything very exciting, but here's what I picked up:

2x 6c Euclid - one with front wheel nuts (£4) and the other with 12.5 x 40 wheels and silver trim (50p).
45c Corsair, good with silver painted base £2
41b D-type with wire wheels £6
51c AEC Pointer £2
16c Scammell snow plough open steps no hole and Budgie 22 crane (still with hook) £3 the pair
A random collection for £12 - scruffy Benbros army lorry, 23c caravan with door, 27c Cadillac with black wheels and base, 11a tanker in darker yellow, 31a with plastic wheels, green 46c Mercedes, clean 44c GMC refrigerator

Ask if you'd like to see better pictures!

Proof bargains are still around at toy fairs. I think we would all like to see more of the very clean looking Corsiar, please.

Here you go - it's really quite good, though it could do with a gentle clean.

I think that worn or common Matchbox are often cheaper at toy fairs. For example, my green Cadillac was only £6 (not at the NEC) and I've seen them go for many times this in online auctions. Lots of dealers just want to move stock so there's always a deal, especially if you're buying several. The challenge is to find the good things that are worth having!

I think these are the rarest I found - the Benbros number 30 AEC army truck with painted wheels, and the Budgie 22 Bedford mobile crane, complete with hook (yes, this is complete). Scarcity does not equate to value, of course, but they're nice little models. So definitely not a wasted trip!
