Toy fair news
Re: Toy fair news
Kind of interesting seeing a mid-week Toy Show on your side of the Pond. Is this a day time show that includes taking the day off from work??
A meeting at the Pub after the Show would be in order, but then it might mean two days off from work if we got talking Toys and drinking Pints.....Oh Boy, I think I am on the wrong side of the pond.
Our Toy Shows are always on weekends in the Colonies except for the Huge multi day Auto Meets which can run up to 5 days for the largest ones. We bring our big coolers with us so that the Pub is right in our own Boot. Cheers and enjoy! I am quite jealous over here......... Kwakers

Re: Toy fair news
Bad weather tipped the scales in favour of me not attempting to get to the NEC Birmingham toy fair. For those that did go, I hope all was well and journies were safely executed.

Hi All,i missed the NEC got up before 6 heavy snow storm, must have had 3 inches of snow. Will have to wait until Sandown . Did anybody make it Pete.
Re: Toy fair news
I went, but managed to miss Fixer and Idris, which was a shame. The snow nearly stopped me too - trees on roads and the M5 was down to two lanes. The show seemed pretty busy, though as I hadn’t been to the NEC before I’ve no idea if this was normal. I found a few nice things and didn’t spend much! I’ll post a picture later.

We did try 'phoning you, but to no avail and, unfortunately, I had to get home in good time for an appointment with a dead dog. (Don't ask!) We must keep in touch and try to meet up sometime in 2018!DrJeep wrote:I went, but managed to miss Fixer and Idris, which was a shame. Not having been to a toyfair for at least eighteen months, I was delighted to see lots of new stock. However, on closer inspection, 99.999% of it proved to be modern/tat/common or a combination of all three.
Nevertheless, I came away with two additions to my collection: a poor condition 17d Hoveringam Tipper with the narrow wedge front suspension casting, and a very, very pale blue 23b Berkeley Caravan (Nick Jones variation code 3). As regards the latter, I suspect it's one of those curious 'even all over' sunfades, so further detailed inspection is required.
Re: Toy fair news
I know. My phone was in my pocket and I didn't realise until too late. I expect we walked past each other without realising (and I did have my Corsair with me!). I'll put my meagre finds in "look what I just got".Idris wrote:We did try 'phoning you
