The Very Best of 2017
Re: The Very Best of 2017
I have most of the 1-75s now but didn't pay a fortune for any of them, therefore very few of mine are hard to find. These are probably the only two I own that don't seem to appear very often - in the UK at least. As you can see the Bedford Tanker has a molding error on the steering wheel - how common are these factory errors? - I'm just hoping that it isn't a fake, but the wheels don't appear to have been tampered with.

Re: The Very Best of 2017
Badly moulded steering wheels are quite common. The level of playware on the wheels seems to match that of the overall condition of the model, so I think it is genuine.

I want it to be real, but I think we need to see the axle ends on the other side to be sure. Zoomed in, the front wheel looks a bit jagged round the axle, though it could just be the angle of the picture or play wear.

Re: The Very Best of 2017
John, might I ask how and from whom you acquired this? If it was an Ebay purchase, who was the seller? (We have a pretty good idea who's peddling fakes and who's above board.)
Re: The Very Best of 2017
I don't have a GPW 25c but I do have a nice fine tread GPW 62b Commer Rentaset. These are often faked, but I'm confident mine is real - it came in a large group from someone selling his childhood collection, and the picture didn't show the wheels. So I think this is what you're looking for on the small end of the axle. I think your axle ends are very similar, but I wonder if the holes in the wheels are larger? Play wear would do this too, of course - one of the front wheels has fallen off the 25c I played with as a child.

Idris,
I tried to send a PM but it appears to be disabled - not moving from the outbox. Help anyone?
Thanks

On this Forum, PMs sit it the Outbox, only transferring to Sent when they are read (which is actually a really useful feature when you think about it).jsherwood wrote:Idris,

Anyhow, I've read it and replied.

Hello everyone, sorry for the long absence. My son has been very unwell but he’s improved considerably now. Consequently I've been off the radar and I haven’t added much lately, but I was pleased to get the 27a Bedford Low Loader early in the year and I just picked up the 74a Mobile Refreshments Canteen tucked away in a group lot, with a base colour that I was missing. Happy Christmas to you all.
