15a yellow mover

Hello elinders, as you can see on my photo the axel ends on the Yellow one have a flat head, but on the Orange one the axel ends have a dome head, the same as you show on your photo.

Haha I literally have no clue. To my untrained eye the back axles of the yellow look very similar to the orange, and to mine.
Well if I ever get it out of the case I will have to stand it up on end like those and get some better pictures for you guys.

For the beginner, who starts to collect Regular Wheels, it is sometimes difficult to find a difference, because this difference is small. I will try to explain
The flat head axis has the shape of the small upper part of the canopy or sphere (with larger radius)
The dome head axis has the shape of the half of the sphere (with small radius)

The photos that have already been posted are conclusive enough to judge that the model does indeed have dome head axles. This would be the main objection to considering the model as being authentic. That places a serious cloud over the model and logical conclusion is that the axles have come from a newer model. The final end conclusion is that the old axles were ruined when they were taken off to repaint an orange model into a yellow model. That's how the model presented in this thread has come to be called a fake.

That’s too bad but all the reason to keep it where it is. Now I’m curious what the story is behind the car and how my grandfather got it.

I like the idea of a white background in your display cases. I note from your close up photo of the 15a that you have matchbox plastic mini interlocking display units. These in there own right are very cool and your grand dad knew this was a clever idea.
They are called Matchbox Home Display and each unit that interlocks holds 5 vehicles. They were originally sold in a display box with 5 vehicles and distributed in USA by Fred Bronner circa late 1960’s. They also came with a clip in clear plastic cover. It looks like you have 72 units within the main case frame.
As a tip you could try a sheet of white card or paper behind the plastic cases as a test, suggest satin or matt to get a feel for light colour before painting.

Good ideas Bert. Thank you. Yeah the case is great. If I paint it I may try to come up with an easier way to access the cars (but can still latch it closed to keep small hands off). We will see. My grandfather passed away about 15 years ago, wish I could talk about the cars with him. But I think he would be happy to see his great grandsons eyes light up when they look at all of them. That makes it all worth it and I will be happy to hand them off to the boys when the time is right.
Then I can ask them “Who wants the fake one??”

Hi again, I would like to add that it became a matter for me when I saw the paint on the broken part of the tow bar. Which is impossible with the original paint.
Antonin is correct, the model has flathead axles, but the axles on this model are also too thick and too short crimped
Sorry elinders, but I thought it was the right thing to do.
