Triumph 2000 promotional colour values...

Hello there.

I was lucky enough to bag a black and white Dinky Toys Triumph 2000 (promotional colour made for Triumph dealerships so I hear) in a bundle I purchased recently, I was really chuffed!

It's a good model, it's all there with nothing missing but it is in played with condition so it doesn't have the best paintwork but it is all original...

What would you say that this could be worth? Are these promotional colourways really very collectible and, if so, only if in mint condition?!

I am not sure whether to keep it or to move it along to someone who has a gap in their collection to fill...!!!

Offering values for models of that status is a Grey area and really not always a good idea on the forum because we will have different views of what it is worth to each one of us showing an interest in buying it. We are not a very good valuation site overall and it comes down to what the right collector will pay for such a model, the trick of course is getting it noticed towards the right collector!

A popular option is to register with somebody like VECTIS and go back through their past auctions to see what prices were realised for the same or similar models.

I just thought I'd ask in case someone had sold one or seen one for sale somewhere.

There is one on eBay right now which gives me a rough idea but having said that it is still on eBay so that may speak volumes!!!

Just had a look and it looks quite good apart from signs of a Black marker pen evidence on the baseplate towards the nearside sill below the rear door, so it may have had some touching up done.

For £109.99 it seems reasonable when mint in box examples in the same colour scheme have realised £540.00 so gauge what condition your is and place an appropiate price between the Two.

Just noticed this thread... I got mine for NZ$265.50 at the end of January 2016. Chris Warr is the Dinky "expert" on here but I believe he visits infrequently - he has helped me with several questions about the Triumph models and the Standard Vanguard models made by Dinky. Dinky had a special relationship with Triumph and Standard Vanguard which saw a few special colour releases done...
