Unusual Sunfade

Over the years, we have had plenty of discussions regarding Lesney's pale green fading to pale blue. These have previously been mainly in the context of the 21c Commer Milk Float and, to a lesser extent, the 29b Austin Cambridge. In addition, in my collection, I have a pale blue, sunfaded 34b VW Camper (bought for a pittance for the novelty value), but I've never either seen or heard of a pale blue, sunfaded 59a Singer Van. However, there was recently one on Ebay, and a copy of the listing photograph is posted below.

Yes. I was almost caught out by one of those a while back.

I agree with Hugh, the pale-green painting is fading to pale blue. But I think this is not the case by 57a Wolseley 1500 (perhaps only by some models only). My grey Wolseley has the same shade of the painting at the base plate and inside the model also.

That's interesting as the finish (what's left) is very even

I have my doubts, and it may well be that different batches of pale green fade in different ways as a result of differences in pigment composition.
There is grey 57a for sale as a BiN on Ebay at the moment, but the photograph showing the side view appears to show severe browning of the GPW (especially the front one), as if they have been exposed to strong sunlight over an extended period of time.

By the looks of the rusted axles this 57a has been in a moist environment as well as in direct sun light. Could moisture and light in combination produce a causal fading effect leading to different shade combinations?
