Iffy Green 11a?

Post by Idris »

Whilst browsing this morning, I spotted this green 11a which doesn't look quite right to me. I think the colour is off, there shouldn't be a rear decal, I don't like the look of the axle crimps, and the headlights appear to have been picked out in silver whilst the rest of the trim is gold.
Having had a look at the seller's other offerings past and present, it looks like he is genuine rather than a faker/seller of fakes.

Had a look at my battered 11A and doesn't match up.
The headlights are picked out in gold and the axle ends have the flatter dome head.
The green appears too dark.

Have also seen some of his other auctions and they seem genuine - this may just be on he has acquired or selling on behalf.

Looking at the picture showing all axles, there are marks that do not appear to me to have been caused by any playing sessions, they do look as if some additional metal contact has taken place especially the rear most axle, looks like smoothed out pliar damage. I also agree about the crimps in particular the front of-side, but have seen this sort of bad crimping on other perfectly normal un-rare models.

I have to go with "fake" as well.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
