Ford Model T van not Yesteryear.

Post by misterpop »

Just doing some listings on Ebay and as I was listing a Mars Ford T van I realised it was a Matchbox ...Anybody know the story on these. Its about same size as Model BA MB38 and has great spoked wheels..I wrongly had it stored with some similar Corgis.

Well after a little research I have this to hand..Its a MB 44 Miniature. It was very detailed, its a lovely little Model with a nice chunky weight to it..Lots where made as promotionals and it managed to completely pass me by....Could be a new item to collect as there are very few discussed anywhere.....Look at this lot..http://www.mbxforum.com/11-Catalogs/00- ... leutel=213

Think there is one of these in my son's toybox. If memory serves me correctly it came with a metal tin full of miniature Mars Bars one Christmas. I'll have a look when he's not on guard :D

I think it came in 2 different colour ways and as stated MB44. Came out just after the MB 38 and not popular due to all the plastic in the model. Almost as many liveries as on the MB 38 vans

Actually released quite a while after the #38. The #44 was first released in Birds Custard livery in 1990/1
Mars van can be found in both black and red.
There's at least 200 variations to find, but quite a few are limited editions made by Adtrucks/ASAP etc...

Hello.A little pissed so dont quote me here.........

I think this came out and was sevearly over shadowed by the Yesteryear one so was not so revered.....But as that bigger collectable has fallen out of favour and you cant seem to be able to give them away the smaller one looks like a decent little model.

Viva the little model T I say and I would put this up as a desirable any time.
