Can anyone tell me why this lot went for the price it did? £540 + commission and we are looking at £648 ($850 converted) Not counting the shipping and packaging. I really didn't see anything that special about the lot. Any help would be appreciated. I had bid on a few lots but didn't get anything. I was really after the Y12 Hoover Model T with certificate but it went just a little high for me with commission and shipping. Does anyone have a spare that they are willing to part with?

That's a lot of money for a model that some worker forgot to paint the radiator shell as it was coming down the line.

It is likely to be the Yellow examples and with one in a Yellow artwork box means a good combination. They are all late issues, so unlikely to be casting variations as most would have been done by this stage.

Yep, the yellow rad surround must be what did it. A lot of money to pay for something that isn't there!
