Another fleamarket with some nice models.
I think the Rolls Royce with Grey Plastik wheels is harder to find.
Sadly it is play worn.

The Phantom V, #44b with Grey plastic wheels is quite hard one to find, so well done for saving that one and I trust it will be for keeps, not a custom, please... :)

Here is mine, also showing signs of playware.

Yes it should have Silver trim but even when new the application of the paint was very fine, not a thick layer and over time being subjected to a lot of platware, the Silver trim does ware off on the high spots of the casting, but often remains within the grille slats.

Your picture does seem to show a model minus Silver paint on the top of the grille and headlamps, but I do see it in the grille slats.

Yes, mine does have the Silver trim, or again, whats left of it.

I have also found this old picture showing some of my other 44b's in order of issue from Lesney. There should be a model in the gap but I don't have the version with Silver plastic wheels, then you see the version with Grey plastic wheels. Models behind the first row are duplicates. I would have brought more since this photo was taken and they await inspection to see which versions they are!

Great Picture with a lot of great models.
How do you know that they where made in this timeline by Matchbox ?
Nicks list only show eight different models.

Models to box.
Progression of casting modifications.
Colours of the main body.
Casting faults.

All these have been checked over and over for a number of Years.

As you look at the models in the above picture, the earliest version is on the left with the last version on the right which has all the casting changes noted in reference books and listings like Nick's.

All my Matchbox, Corgi, Dinky, Spot-on and Lone-Star diecasts are sorted into their own 'Time-Lines'.

None of them are coded to Nick's listing. If they do match models on it this is coincidence. I joined the forum in 2013 but had sorted my models long before this and had them listed on old fashioned paper and note books.
