Hi i have been left a collection of Models of Yesteryear and I would like to know how to authenticate some of them please.
Y12 "Cerebos Salt" with a yellow roof. Is it real or has it been swapped from white?
Y26 I can't see any six wheeled versions as ever been made, is this a one off?
I have attached photos which I hope will assist.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The Y26 is a 3rd party alteration. Fodens have been see like this as well. Regarding the Cerebos, you need to examine the roof to body attachment, or supply a decent picture of it for us to check. Your pictures are much to large for easy viewing here, hopefully a moderator will sort them out for you.

Further to my question regarding the above, as requested I have taken a few photos of the roof. I don't really know what I am looking for but I do not wish to list it for sale if it is not genuine. My late Fathers collection consisted of over 2000 trains and 700 odd diecasts of all sorts and at his rate I won't live long enough to sell them all! Anyhow they are all going to a good cause so anyhelp confirming it's authenticity would be great.

Your additional pictures of the Ford's roof rivets do show signs of tampering. The factory finish rivets would be much more pronounced, I.E. the rivet head (the part looking like a Mushroom), would be bigger to ensure they are securing the roof component. On yours, they are very small and are barely exiting from the holes in the roof. It would not require too much effort to remove the roof by hand. I am sure Bob would agree with this.

The model is not genuine in my opinion. I suspect the roof is glued on, as the rivets do not appear to be performing any kind of retaining function.

I agree, the model has been tampered with and altered from it's original incarnation.
