The blue bus is a Ikarus made by ESPEWE East Germany.

I agree, the Blue model does look like an 'ESPEWE' model. The Red Bus is the single decker from Dinky, the one with a working bell perhaps. The Green Bus is from 'EFE' and is the last bus a Corgi GMC!

Nice guesses.

The GMC bus is a Made in China souvenir bus, which is a very good replica of a GM "Fishbowl" from the early 1960s. It's about 1:76 scale. You can pick them up for a about five dollars. The yellow bus is made in Argentina by Galgo. The red double-decker is a sightseeing bus from China, also a souvenir. And somehow an armored car in desert camo also made the picture.

I'll post more bus pictures if you like.

Cheers,
Tito

I reckon the Chinese made 'Fishbowl' then is either a direct copy or Based-On the Corgi.

Yes, please show some more, but my bus knowledge is limited so please don't think I'm going to identify every model you show... :D I want you to make comment about your collection, like your favourites, why you like them, where you get them from and what models you are looking for.

Throw a bunch of plastic friction powered toys in front of me and I'll be a Happy Chappy...

A nice selection of buses there. I picked up the GMC Fishbowl when I was in New York a few years ago, together with an RTS bus which looked to be by the same maker. I also bought an Apple Tours open-topper, which came in an attractive box, but the model itself was pretty nasty. The lower deck was based on Corgi's Metrobus, with a door added on the right-hand side. The wheels were oversized and the upper deck rather crude. It's definitely best left in the box, which features a photo of an ex-London Daimler DMS bus which the toy is supposed to represent.

The Galgo Mercedes is a very attractive little model. The only other Galgo bus I have is this one:

The green AEC Merlin is a Britbus. A very nice model, but they can suffer from metal fatigue, which is very annoying! Here are a few pictures of some of my London buses.

What a great collection Jason and more buildings.

I am surprised we don't attract more interest in Buses, but maybe this is because we are seen as Matchbox specific, but I know there have been a lot of Matchbox buses made over the Years and would like to see them on the forum.

Do we want a Bus/Coach thread ?

Hi All:

Bus and coach thread would be a good idea. Can we convert this thread into a new Bus/Coach thread?

Fred 7A love your bus collection and the buildings, would love to know if they are scratch built, store bought, kit bashed. I have a weakness for bus garages as you may imagine.

Going to post some more of my buses, including some pics which are from the time I had a layout. Think I will do them a few at a time, if okay by all.

Cheers,
Tito

PS: Fred, is "7A" a bus route?

Hi Folks:

This is a pic from a few years back showing some Matchbox K-15s, two of which I dolled up, including a Dunlop advert from a Dinky bus and one that's just come in and quite down-at-the heel, ready for my attention The K-15 was Matchbox's attempt at a London DM/DMS. London Transport called them "The Londoner," but the name never caught on. And apparently, they were a bit of a letdown in service. I nicknamed them Olympic in honor of the many Leyland Olympics (Royal Tigers too) I rode when I was a kid in Buenos Aires. The Olympic and the DM/DMS have nothing to do with each other. I just saw some similarities in the squareness of the bodywork in the Matchbox model.
