Shades in SF Picture Boxes

Post by SuperFast »

Hey guys,

as I've seen the thread about the shades of RW Boxes I just thought there must be numerous variations of SF Boxes too.
I begin with the SF 5 Seafire box shades (These are mint boxes, not sunfaded etc.)

Let's see the variations which you have found!

Interesting Sven but you have got me worried, does that mean I need to start collecting box shade variations as well???.

I like the shade variations and did collect them myself as in my opinion they are a recognisable box variation, Here are two Harley Davidson boxes with shade variations.

Shows up on my VAIO screen as a Purple box on top of a Lilac box.

Ghosty: the lower one is having a red shade and the upper one is having a blue shade.

Did you also notice the difference between the lower text (MATCHBOX REGISTERED TRADEMARK etc), starts in different places under the TRUCK word.

Got a new box this year with a Holden Pickup in it.
The box is medium blue instead of purple blue and it is my first box # 60 without the "new".
All three boxes in this picture have different text in the bottom right.

I know it sounds like an odd comment but...

Could colour variations in these (and other) boxes stem from how they were stored at the factory?!

For example, if some pre-made boxes were sitting on the top of a pile ready to go they would have had more exposure to light prior to being made up for dispatch.

Just a thought...
