My passion: When the weather is mild and the chance of pop-up thunderstorms is low ... I love to fly the friendly skies in my flying machine.

Must have been the day I forgot my GPS, LOL. Seriously, one day I did forget to charge the battery in the GPS and I was enjoying putting around so much I lost track of where I was. I had to climb higher and look for something, some landmark I recognized (lake, highway, towns that sort of thing). Once I did that I was mostly back on track, but it took longer to get home than I had planned. Still plenty of fuel left but gone nearly an hour longer than planned. The wife is absolutely convinced I'm going to kill myself in "that thing" as she calls it (and also refuses get in it with me). So far, only one of my friends has gone up with me and when his wife found out he's "not allowed in that thing either" LOL.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I'm sure I saw you flying over my back garden. Well Joe, it is nice to have so much independance and I am sure ''that thing'' is pretty safe and if there is a problem, it'll be down to pilot error

Kev, thanks for the strong vote of confidence.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:Well Joe, it is nice to have so much independance and I am sure ''that thing'' is pretty safe and if there is a problem, it'll be down to pilot error

See that white thing just to the left of my head (in the photo), that's a parachute for the craft. Hit the panic button and it opens via a charge like an air bag does. In theory, the entire ultra light (pilot and all) does a fairly soft landing. One only hopes not to deploy it over a dense forest or other undesirable terrain. Anyway, that's my "Plan B."

I see it Joe, the container with Three dark stripes around it. If you could compare it to a car, how heavy do you think the craft is, an average Family sedan or something bigger.
