yesteryear boxes latest chart

Post by mmi »

has anyone made up a recent chart?

I have been marking off boxes from the chart in the "2000" book

recently found a newer chart for " F /G " with input from Matthias and Jonathan which detailed the 4 exterior print types and insert colors

then found Kevins (GH) note on the different insert shapes

1 how does this fit in the chart?
2 any updates to the others ( A-E,H) ..add french label ( canada...france)?
3 any work done on the later I / J etc ?

Bob de Graf did a lot of work on Straw & Maroon boxes. There are at least 4 types of straw box, and the maroon box type list is a long one with all the specials. My copy of this listing corrupted and sadly and is now of no use :x

Mmi, I have very detailed notes for the 'Yesteryear' boxes, Pink and Yellow (F), Purple and Yellow (G), 'Woodgrain' (H), 'Straw' (I) and Maroon box (J) for specific Rolls-Royce models if these are any help to you.

I am not good with (new) computers had all inventory listed (100 pg tractor /ribbon printout ,triplicate) when WE could write the code and it did what it should without  every few months... had converted to excel but after '05
I do have various posts on the boxes that I cant put into a chart anymore you are quoted along with yybob bobtutt etc
moyboy just sent an extensive chart from matchboxbob which helped considerably re "J" I had time to look over 75 , confirmed most of chart but found several US differences mainly with LTD box plain reg gold bold (letterpress)
contents on flap + - '84 printing or 1st run from that printer? perrier used for others

The best list of all variations on MOY boxes till 1972 can be found in Alex Picha his great great book about early MOY till 1972.
I agree with Bob Tutt that Dutch collector Bob de Graaf did make a very nice list for H, I and J boxes and all their variations.

would be nice if someone else was interested...........
working on J up to y-8 found 3 type LTD plain, reg, bold and so far 4... four different macau
I cant type fast or load photos any more so it is going to be buried into my sheet/list which only has room for 10 bits of info not the 12-15 found or needing + 10 character space

it is hard enough to code cars with out multiple examples so not inspecting box .....these are obvious
