On holiday somewhere exotic Pete? I might go up in July for the YY sale, but it's a five and a half hour drive, then you have to factor in petrol/accommodation costs.

Went after 2 Pontiacs (the carded #22 Grand Prix & maltese cross wheel #4 firebird) and didn't get a look in on either.

I had a bid of 130 gbp on lot 3634, the Matchbox Retailers Illuminated Ceiling Hanging Shop Window/Sales but this sold at 190.
Did any-one here got this one ?

I managed to pick up 2 Superfast models. One of the Dodge Chargers with label on the front and a Toe Joe with maltese cross wheels. I too wanted the Pontiac Firebird with maltese cross (hoping the fact the model was not showing the wheels in the pic would be a plus), but didn't even attempt to bid. Prices for it shot up.

On a side note, I have always used Invaluable to do my bidding online. It was cheaper. They had a blanket 25% premium. It recently went up to 26% and when I won in the March auction it was 26% then. I had the invoice for this and noticed it has gone up again to 27%. So now it is cheaper to go through Vectis direct to bid. They charge a 20% premium which you then add VAT to. Therefore it is actually 24%. Plus, because I pay by card you then add a 2% fee on to the entire auction, which means it is just under 26.5% that is acually added on. I know it is only around a 0.5% saving, but every penny counts. So if anybody is like me and used Invaluable and a credit card to pay, next time go to Vectis direct for bidding. It is now cheaper.

:) :D :P
