Taking two old models and joining them together to make something that Lesney never did.
Here I have joined a SF 10b Leyland Ergomatic pipe truck with a RW 21d Foden Concrete Mixer.
I think the end result turned out rather well.

That is an excellent combination. I especially like the added details of the tilting cab, engine/exhaust and the two tone paint scheme. Very well done. I know all too well how difficult it can be to separate the cab from the mixer drum's power unit and keep things looking neat and clean. Once again, your work makes the process look effortless, as if it was cast that way. It's not easy to get such clean results when working in such a small scale and then having to produce large close ups of the project.

Year's ago, I literally went in a different direction. I kept the cab but ditched the power unit and drum. Back then, I was big on going "windowless," for that retro pre-60's look. If I made this one today, I'd opt to clean up the wheels (maybe do them in gray) and use a diamond plate or ribbed deck for the crane.

I really like the concrete mixer but I think I wouldn´t try because it is hard to do.

Thank you for the comments, much appreciated.
It did take quite a bit of work this one, but all very enjoyable.
The model was spray painted with rattle cans and a fair amount of tape work to do the stripes. The silver trim was brushed on by hand. I filled the seam on the barrel drum in with some JB weld, as I thought it looked odd having a seem in the drum.
The tilt cab seem like a natural and a good way to attach the cab to the chassis, as well as a way of adding some detail. The motor was cast in JB weld also, by making modeling clay impression from a motor of a 25c tanker and filling it with the epoxy, after he clay was removed and with a bit of filing, the model had its powerplant. I did the exhaust stack using a bit of electrical wire.

That's a nice one Joe and does indeed look very retro with both the cab of the truck and crane cab windowless.

I had to pop-in and look at the concrete truck one more time ... so much to like about it, quite a bit of really excellent work on that one!
