None of the NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition), the AIM's “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Stannard, Houghton, or Leake ("Concise Catalogue of 75 Series Matchbox Toys by Lesney" (4th edition, reprinted 2006)) lists any variation not already catalogued by Nick. However, AIM does note that both light and dark GPW are found on this model whilst Leake points out that both body and jib colours come in different shades.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.

A large number of variations were highlighted in and older topic. Primarily from Antonin (Diecast) these included a crossover with a 13a jib, numbered and unnumbered 8.5 x 18 MW, three different trims styles (hand-applied bumper and grille, mask sprayed bumper and grille, and mask sprayed grille only).
