Re: Best Finds of 2013
I have never seen silver detailing on an SF#22. WOW!

Re: Best Finds of 2013
Both my finds came from the same lot, along with 6 Dinkys of which 4 have been sold, making my best finds of the year free - very important to my tiny budget!
My best pre 70 Lesney has to be the Large Scale Bulldozer My best 'other' is the Dinky LNER Mechanical Horse, not too many around in this condition. I don't know if it qualifies for my best find anymore as it now resides with Chris Warr - part of a swap deal which saw me getting a couple of 1970s Dinky Fodens which are my personal bests of the year purely for nostalgic reasons. Finally (reach for your sick bags now) - I have to mention this forum as being a 'best find of the year' for me. I was registered on the old one but didn't really get involved. I'm now checking this one out on a daily basis, sometimes even posting! There is a great atmosphere, and a wealth of knowledge which people are willing to share so thanks to everyone - I'm most definitely hooked

Hi Jason, thanks for your reply and explanation!nearlymint wrote:Hi Ken ,the words at the back spin round on a roller as you push the model along(quite a good design). Unfortunately thats the only paper left on the roller.
I will do some more pictures at a later date and add into the superfast pages.
Jason
I was wondering what the significance of the "All Take" lettering was! So it spins around, a bit like 007's number plate.. an ingenious concept! This is most likely a unique specimen, and an amazingly rare find. Congratulations!!
It's a pity that only one strip of paper's left, as it would be nice to know what the rest of the cryptic 'message' says. Cheers for offering to continue this on the 'Superfast Chatroom' threads. Please do give us some more info on this intriguing prototype, as well as a baseplate pic... at your convenience, of course!
Thanks again, and best wishes,
Ken
Variations are the spice of life.

Has any of the lettering fallen off and possibly still within the model???matchbox360 wrote:Hi Jason, thanks for your reply and explanation!nearlymint wrote:Hi Ken ,the words at the back spin round on a roller as you push the model along(quite a good design). Please whittle it down to just one pre-1970 model.gpwcollector wrote:Hi all, here are 2 of what I consider "Best Finds of 2013" although I had a great year and bought alot of real nice models...
Re: Best Finds of 2013
Tere are my two.
My pre-1970 choice isn't even a proper variation - it's an error piece, namely the spare wheel 20a. However, I've alway thought that it looks the part and this year, finally, after almost 35 years of searching, I finally found one to add to my collection.
My post-1970 choice is a variation I failed to buy when I saw it new in the shops (penniless student syndrome) and I've now managed to correct that serious error of judgement.
