My 2014 Superfast finds
Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
Speechless JP, I need to revisit my Group 6 collection as I am missing a fair few variations that you have shown

Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
Into 2017 and a few more variations added to my collection: -
45 Ford Group 6 in dark green with amber windows and pink base to accompany my other variation with dark grey base: -
This one came from the Steve Karseboom sale at Vectis last year. The front rivet is gnarled up but I'm confident that it's legit.
Although not easy to see in a photograph, the top 23 VW Camper has the larger 11mm wheels more commonly found on the earlier blue model: -
Again, not easy to see but the top 5 Lotus Europa has unlisted 11.4mm wide wheels, rather than the usual 10.3mm: -
As discussed in another thread, a 56 BMC Pininfarina in orange with solid treaded wheels, this time from the early 'E' mould: -
Finally, a 29 Racing Mini in orange with harder to find ivory interior: -

Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
Very nice John, I particularly like the Lotus Europa with the larger wheels.

Thanks, Alex.motorman wrote:Very nice John, I particularly like the Lotus Europa with the larger wheels.
It's not a variation that I've heard of before but has probably been hidden in plain sight.
This larger, 5-spoke wheel is common to a few early 1970's models that I'm aware of: 19 Road Dragster; 22 Freeman Commuter; 36 Draguar; 45 Ford group 6; 52 Dodge Charger Mk III; 68 Porsche 910. There are no doubt more that fall outside the scope of my collection.

I wonder just how many of these we have walked by at swapmeets or overlooked on eBay, One to looked our for!!Johnny Pimp wrote:Thanks, Alex.motorman wrote:Very nice John, I particularly like the Lotus Europa with the larger wheels.

Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
A few more recent finds.
A pair of 55 Mercury Police Cars with red roof light (not mint, obviously!), one with small solid (J mould) wheels and the other with small hollow wheels: -
Nothing particularly noteworthy until they're turned over: -
These '59 or 73' bases are very scarce and haven't turned up at any of the big Vectis sales over the past few years. There is one for £15 on eBay at the moment but it's a bit rough. An added bonus on the solid wheeled car was an additional door label to one side: -
73 Mercury Commuter wheel variations - unlisted square slot on the earlier model and missing the hot foil print on the later wide arch variation which is a shade lighter than usual: -

Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
Nice acquisitions JP, i find that the Mercury Police car is a real tough one to find in mint condition. I love the 2 labels on the one side.

I agree that the Mercury is a swine to find without any paint chips.motorman wrote:Nice acquisitions JP, i find that the Mercury Police car is a real tough one to find in mint condition. I love the 2 labels on the one side.
I have only the one and it's just been replaced in the display cabinet by the double-label variation!

Re: My 2014 Superfast finds
I'm very pleased to have found this 3c Mercedes Benz-Binz Ambulance: -
Nick's code 12 with thin wheels and wide arches. Maybe not as glamorous as the regular wheel body Superfast that appeared on the forum last year but I do like these crossover pieces.

Great acquisition John and not an easy piece to find, thanks for showing.
