Some great additions there, I like the pale road roller, very nice. (the horse van looks like a US issue Dinky)

John,
You are right, of course. I suppose the large letters "Dinky" cast in the bottom should have been a clue.
Thank you for the correction. I will edit my posts.

Hi Kurt,

some nice models.
What scale is the Dinky Horsebox?

Hello Stefan
I don't know the Dinky line that well so I will have to do some research to confirm scale. I will add a post to the Dinky page.
The model itself is about 174x50x67mm (width measured from axel end to axel end).

Does anyone else know the scale of this model?

Hello Kurt,

thanks for the additional info.
I really like this model but I think it would be too big for me.

The scale of the Dinky Horse Box is 1/48. This is one of the few Dinky Toys with a cast aluminium body. As previously mentioned, you one is the US issue and not easy to find, at least in the UK. It's a really nice item and one of my favourite Dinky Supertoys. Wheels were maroon on earlier production then changed to red.

Thank you Fred for the information about the Horse Box.
Are the red hubs the differentiator between the 591 and the 981 or did the maroon hubs span both numbers?
And were only the export models cast in aluminum or were all Horse Boxes aluminum?
It is a very nice casting.

I don't know whether the change of wheel colour coincides with the number change. I think both changes happened around the same time, but I doubt that the crossover would have been as neat as that, knowing Dinky!

As far as I know all the Horse Boxes were aluminium.

Brake fluid or nail polish remover?
