I recently purchased a pair of 12a Land Rovers in two very different colours. Although the colour of the 12a can vary considerably, it is always that faintly yellowy-green. However, one of the models is more of a military green. The final photograph is an enlargement of a area on the underside of the rear bumper which shows that the darker paint has been applied over the normal paint for this model. Axle crimps look to be factory and there is no evidence of overpainting on either the axles or the wheels. Furthermore, it is the first casting and therefore cannot be a colour trial associated with the release of the a-series military models (with which it would have been a much better fit, scale-wise, than the 12b).
Comments are welcome.
