(&//$/%?!! ebay sellers - wtf do they think they are?

Post by Miller »

I´m little bit angry, just a tiny little bit! Where is my rifle?? Image

When i last day asked for a UK adress, i had won a uncomplete Motorway set fur 10 GBP. I wrote to the seller, that i have a UK adress and that he does not need to ship to Germany. As eGay is a little unflexible with things like changing shipping condtions, i asked him to simply send me his paypal addy and i would pay him. Instead of an answer he stated an unpaid article and wrote, that he will put it on eBay again and i should make another try.

Well, so i did and this time i got it for 4.99 GBP! Right after the end of the auction i once again told him, that he just has to ship within the UK - and this &%$"§)O deletes the auction for an wrong adress!!!

Are there still some victims of the mad cow disease???

Frustrating but as far as I know if a seller sends an item to a different address to the order/paypal address, the seller has no protection in the event of a claim for the item not being received even with tracking. However, for cheaper lots I have sent items to buyers and simply asked them to change the order address before paying and this has worked ok. I don't know if it can still be done that way though.

Strange. Marcel has his UK purchases sent to me without any problems. He then collects them from me when he comes over to the UK for the Sandown toy fair.

The second seller doesn´t respond also anymore. One thing learned - never again bid on eBay UK

There is another side to the story. Unless I know you or have had positive past experiences dealing with you - I will not ship to any address other than the one you have on file with ebay/paypal. Both Ebay and Paypal continuously remind sellers not to ship to an address that is different from the one on file. Doing so will void all sellers rights through both services.

There is one simple way around this (especially if you want to keep buying from ebay UK). Open a second ebay account and list the UK address of the person who will forward your packages.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
