Hi Dan, I have also found this is a hard variation to find. Your one is in pretty good shape as well, very nice find. J

This model's rarity is underrated in Nick's value Guide at the VBD variation site. I somehow got the impression that the KBPW were more common than the fine BPW in England because of Nick's Guide, but now that Dan has shown us his.... ...., and I see the replies to his Post, I now know better! I missed one of these that was Mint about 8 months ago at $40 U.S. here in the States, and I am still upset with myself over it. We saw a lot of these in our stores in the U.S., but never with the knobby BPW on them. MOST of our fine BPW had inside window frames on BOTH their doors, so I can't imagine Mick Stannard missed that variation in his 1985 Guide. He apparently had never seen one with the later window frame on its left hand door when they were "common" here in the U.S., and they still are today as well.
Thank You Dan and all for letting me know how tough this variation is to find. I feel much better about not having found one of these for our collection YET!!! :D kwakers

Hello all I must have been rather lucky as this model with 10 x 24 BPW was the first 34b model I got, and that was in UK.

Yes George, you and Dan are very lucky to have one of these. What a very nice casting that has always been one of my favorites. My first Car was in fact a 1964 VW Hippie Van with a very nice sound system and the latest 8 Track tape player under the dash. "Woodstock" and Sgt. Peppers were my favorite tapes in those days.....What memories.....kwakers

and to think nowadays they have tiny little MP3 players with as much music capacity as your 1964 VW Hippie Van filled to brim with 8-track tapes... they even have digital cameras ;)
